Firstly we help the children who take part. SCHOOL BAGS is a great
project for children to be involved with. Not only does it teach them
about working in a team towards a common goal but perhaps more importantly about the environment, recycling and how we need to support third world and developing countries.
Following the collection day we return all the clothes to our base for
sorting, ready for sale. Our experienced sorters grade the clothes
into over 140 different categories. We then sell them to third world and developing countries. Clothes are sold in markets and second-hand shops which provide the local people with affordable clothing something which is so desparetley needed.
Finally SCHOOL BAGS helps everyone with the environmental benefits
it brings. Each year in the UK approximatley two million tonnes of clothes
get thrown away contributing to the already massive problem of landfill. By collecting your old clothes for SCHOOL BAGS you can lower this figure and make a real difference. The scheme also creates employment both at home and abroad. Ecotex Ltd. and SCHOOL BAGS has paid over £5,000,000.00
to charities and organisations.
